We’ve been needing one more person to fill in the gaps. These songs are just not the same without some of the keyboard effects and harmonies. We’ve taken a lot of time to build the bare bones of each song and I think it’s time we get into the details.
So I invited a friend of mine that helps me with a lot of stuff anyway. I know how hard he works, which is more important to us than raw talent. He’s been singing, playing acoustic guitar and keyboards and is interested in getting into playing a B3 style organ. It’s going to be a while as he’s learning the music but I did have one overriding impression after our first practice with him. He did his homework. Well played, sir.
On another note, we’re still working on videoing practices. iPhones and a GoPro. Nothing fancy. Audio is really the challenge. Ok, the sound quality sucks. I think we’re going to need another decent condenser mic (and a 3rd XLR!!!) to actually do the job well enough. All that aside, here’s a clip with our new keyboard player, Mr. Daniel Shults.
